Safety is at the heart of everything we do. Every day, our goal is simple: work safely, look after each other, and return home safely to our families.
As part of the unit AHCWHS302 Contribute to Workplace Health and Safety Processes, students explored the importance of maintaining safe work practices in the horticulture industry. This unit supports the essential skills needed to identify hazards, follow workplace health and safety procedures, and contribute to a safer working environment.
On one of our final days at the Priory before moving to our new site in the Adelaide Parklands, our group focused on safe equipment use and manual handling. These are two important areas that horticulture students and professionals use in their daily work.
We were also lucky to enjoy unseasonably warm winter weather, which made learning and working outdoors even more enjoyable.
Safety is not just a lesson. It is a daily habit that helps protect ourselves, our classmates, our colleagues, and our future workplaces.
