Ironwood Institute and the Indonesian Ministry of Home Affairs Strengthening International Collaboration – Skilling the Way to Food Security

Ironwood Institute joined the Domestic Policy Strategy Agency (BSKDN) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) at their National Workshop held in Jakarta, Indonesia, in December 2024. Themed “Alignment of Central and Regional Policy Directions to Achieve Asta Cita,” the workshop convened experts and stakeholders to discuss strategies for fostering coherence between central and regional government policies.

A significant milestone of the workshop was the signing of a Letter of Intent (LoI) between BSKDN and Ironwood Institute. The agreement underscores their commitment to collaborate in research, training, education, and related initiatives with objectives to:

  • Build institutional and individual capacities
  • Advance transnational education
  • Develop joint projects
  • Promote scholarship opportunities

“This joint initiative fosters educational collaboration between Australia and Indonesia to support skills development and capacity building,” said Navtej Bal, CEO of Ironwood Institute. “We are excited to see how this partnership evolves in 2025 and beyond.”

Ironwood Institute’s participation in the workshop reflects its dedication to fostering global partnerships and contributing to meaningful solutions for shared challenges. This initiative marks another step forward in strengthening ties between Australia and Indonesia for sustainable development and education excellence.
