Exploring Himeji Gardens and Submitting My First Assignment

This week, our class visited the beautiful Himeji Gardens in Adelaide’s southern parklands. The visit gave us valuable insights into the variety of landscapes across our city and the different approaches used to maintain them.  We were fortunate to meet with representatives from the City of Adelaide’s Horticulture Department, who shared their knowledge about how the gardens are managed and maintained.

It was also a milestone week for me personally — I submitted my first academic assignment in over 30 years! Thankfully, it wasn’t as intimidating as I’d expected. Mark guided the class through the task and clearly outlined the expectations, which made the process much smoother.  Luckily, this assignment isn’t graded but rather assessed as “Competent” or “Not Yet Competent”, so I can relax and not feel like I’m competing with my children’s stellar performances!

Assignment submitted — and now I’m looking forward to next week’s topic: Applying Biosecurity Measures.
