At Ironwood Institute, we’re always looking ahead — and this month, we were thrilled to welcome the University of Adelaide’s Uncrewed Research Aircraft Facility (URAF) to deliver a hands-on drone technology workshop for our horticulture students.
Led by Ms Molly Hennekam, Director of URAF, the session gave students a dynamic and practical introduction to how drone technology is transforming the horticulture industry. From large-scale vegetation monitoring to precision agriculture and data analytics, students explored how drones are being used to solve real-world challenges in plant production and landscape management.

This collaboration is part of Ironwood’s ongoing commitment to equipping students with industry-relevant, future-focused skills. By integrating advanced tech like drones into our training, we help our students become more job-ready, competitive, and confident as they enter the fast-evolving green industry.
Thank you again to Ms Hennekam and the URAF team for an inspiring and engaging learning experience!

👉 Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to lead in horticulture innovation and education in South Australia.
