The Diploma of Agribusiness Management reflects the role of those working in decision-making and supervisory roles on farms, stations and related rural businesses. At this level, workers take personal responsibility and exercise autonomy in undertaking complex work. They must analyse information and exercise judgement to complete a range of advanced skilled activities.

Duration

Standard course duration (incl. holidays): 52 weeks

Study duration: 40 weeks / 4 study terms

Holidays: A maximum of 12 weeks spread across the course duration. Holidays cannot be taken at the commencement or at the completion of an enrolment.

Scheduled classes per week: 20 hours, two full days (8 hours) and a half-day (4 hours).

Self-study: 10 hours per study week

Ironwood Institute is located at Level 3, 112-118 Rundle Mall, Adelaide 5000. The campus is in the heart of Adelaide City Centre, which offers an excellent blend of history, culture, modern lifestyle, and congenial learning environment. The site is well connected by public transport (bus, tram, and train).
The campus hosts five classrooms, admin offices, student support services desk, student kitchen, computer room, student break room, library, separate toilets for male, female & disabled and students meeting room.

The Institute does not provide transportation to sites and it is student’s responsibility to get there on time on practical training days either on bus or at their own transport medium.

Entry Requirements

Age: All students need to be 18 years of age at the time of commencement.

Academic: Minimum Year 12 equivalent to Australian standards or above and/or Certificate level qualification from Australia

English: International student applicants are required to demonstrate English language proficiency of IELTS 6.0 equivalent.

Demonstrating the required English proficiency through an Ironwood internal English assessment

Students with IELTS score less than 6.0 or equivalent can study English for Academic Purposes (10 weeks for IELTS 5.5 and 20 weeks for IELTS 6.0) at Ironwood to meet the English requirement.

On successful completion of this course, students will be awarded the Diploma of Agribusiness Management (AHC51422) Testamur. Students who successfully complete only one or more units of competency within this Qualification will receive a Statement of Attainment. (By enrolling in this course, Ironwood Institute does not guarantee a learner will successfully complete and receive the qualification).

Qualification Pathways

Advanced Diploma of Agribusiness or relevant bachelor’s degree at Australian Universities (Ironwood Institute does not guarantee an automatic pathway to a university degree and advises students to seek confirmation with the university). Ironwood Institute does not intend to receive more than 50% of the total tuition fees from overseas students or intending overseas before starting the course, which is more than 25 weeks in duration. However, the student and /or person responsible for paying those fees can choose to pay more than 50% of the total tuition fees for a course.

Consumer Protection

The ESOS legislation provides consumer protection to the enrolled students at Ironwood Institute. The written agreement, and the right to make complaints and seek appeals of decisions and action under various processes, does not affect the rights of the student to take action under the Australian Consumer Law if the Australian Consumer Law applies.

Overseas Students Health Cover

It is a condition of student visas that international students and accompanying dependents must hold valid Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of their study in Australia. The OSHC rate will vary depending on the personal circumstances and duration of stay in Australia. OSHC is a private health care arrangement, equivalent to Australia’s Medicare system, which helps cover the costs of medical treatments in and out of hospital, should you get sick or have an accident. Ironwood Institute recommends OSHC provider Australian Health Management (AHM). However, this recommendation does not restrict you from obtaining OSHC from a provider of your choice. A list of approved providers can be found on the Department of Health and Aging website.
