Congratulations to Zoe Hsu, NGISA 2021 Horticulture Student of the Year.

On Saturday night Zoe (Pao-Yueh Hsu) was awarded the NGISA Horticulture Student of the Year award for 2021. Starting her Certificate III in Horticulture at Ironwood Institute in March 2020 Zoe soon proved herself to be an outstanding student, showing an aptitude for plants and an eagerness to learn. During this year she began working with the team at Poplar Grove Nursery. In April 2021 Zoe began her Diploma of Horticulture, building management abilities into her hands-on skills.

At Poplar Grove Zoe works as a Nursery Person assisting with the propagation, potting, fertilising, pruning, and dispatching of plants for wholesaling to major plant retailers in Australia.

Currently, she is completing the additional units required to gain the Certificate III in Nursery Operations to ensure she has the best skills match to her work at Poplar Grove.

Also joining Zoe at the NGISA 2021 Awards evening was fellow student Jay Do (Manh Dung Do) who works at Jong’s Nursery and Ironwood’s Partnership Manager Victoria Pearce
